Bush Mechanics
Monday June 22, 2009
The term 'bush mechanics' refers to the practice of using materials typically found in the Australian outback to make urgent repairs to cars and motorbikes. Bush mechanics will use literally anything they can get their hands on, including tree stumps, grass and rocks to fix anything from flat tyres to broken axles. The practice originated in central Australia where spare parts are rarely spare and the nearest help could be a thousand 'clicks' away. They say that necessity breeds invention and bush mechanics certainly prove this to be true.
