What are weddings really about? According to Elizabeth Coleman's play Secret Bridesmaid's Business, the most important thing is the colour of the bows on the end of the pews. That and making sure the flowers match the shoes. And whether or not Uncle Reg should be invited. This comedy has become a modern Australian classic since it was first performed in 1999. The story of the last desperate hours before a bride's wedding and the hilarious machinations of her mother and bridesmaids should be familiar to anyone who has gone through this literally hysterical occasion, and entertaining to anyone who hasn't.

Directed by Karim Shaker, tonight is the final performance of a production by the other MTC, the Moreland Theatre Company. -- ROHAN TROLLOPE
