Car Tyres
Car tyres are essential to road safety, legality and the performance of your vehicle. Spending money on good tyres will help your car's handling abilities, stopping performance and may even prevent you from having an accident.
Tyres wear due to normal road use, and the harder you drive your vehicle, the sooner tyres will wear out. However, for normal use, a good set of tyres will last some time. Most normal vehicles will have a standard tyre that can be used in all conditions, including in the wet, other slippery conditions and normal dry surfaces.
Wheel balance and alignment (see Wheel Alignment Service) will facilitate longer life and correct performance of car tyres, and it's important not to neglect your spare tyre either. Tyre manufacturers spend great amounts of money researching and engineering tyres for your car, and even though good tyres might cost slightly more, for most vehicles, it is worth it.
Speciality vehicles will require suitable tyres, and this includes 4WD tyres and truck tyres. Depending on the use of the vehicle, you may choose to buy off-road tyres or semi-off road tyres, and tyre shops will even supply performance or recreational tyres. Remember, bigger tyres and tyres to fit large rims will normally cost more money.
