Car Seat

A car seat is a necessity when a new member of the family arrives, and safety, comfort, quality and value are all important considerations when shopping for a car seat. Adult car seats and seat belts do not provide adequate support for babies and children, and you should utilise a car seat until your child reaches five years of age (approx).

The type of restraint or car seat you use will depend on your child's size, and if you are unsure talk to a professional about suitable car seats. According to the NRMA, rearward facing car seats or capsules are best for babies up to 9-12kg, forward facing seats are best suited for young children 8-18kg and a booster seat will best accommodate older children 14-26kg.
