Car Brakes
Car brakes require regular repairs and maintenance like all aspects on your car. Brake mechanics and most mechanics in general can perform the necessary work on brake systems, such as replacing brake pads, discs, brake fluids and other vital components.
Under heavy use, brakes can become very hot, and modern brake systems often feature vented discs to distribute heat. If you really want to maximise brake performance, you can opt for cross drilled and slotted brake rotors and performance brake pads. However, not all vehicles need that much braking performance.
Some brake pads will leave a fine dust on your rims, and other brake pads will cause noise or squeaking. Brake dust is normal for many brake pads, and if you are not happy with your brake pad, you can talk to a mechanic about trying a different brand. While not all brake noise signifies a problem, if your pads are squealing excessively or have started making new or strange noises, it is probably time for some maintenance.
If your brake pads are new or still within functionality and are making excessive noise, you may need to try a softer pad (some brake pads have steel imbedded into the pad) or a different brand of brake pad. Pay attention to your car and always perform necessary repair and maintenance to car brakes.
